Busy Week!

Okay, it's almost Friday! Yeah! Have I mentioned how much I love Friday's??? This has been a crazy week. My mom is still away, and I miss her! We are however picking her up from the airport on Saturday night, which I am very excited about. Elissa has been busy with school. She had her first field trip of the school year today. We went to Birchwood Dairy, which was nice, but the barns were really quite, ummmm...strong smelling, in not such a nice way. She did get her blue bubblegum ice cream cone though. Cathy was able to look after Connor while I went with Elissa. I was a little concerned her may not want me to leave but, I was barely to the front door when I noticed him running up the stairs to play with Samuel's Thomas the Train. He did great and seems to have no problem being left there.

I've been busy cleaning the house and really trying NOT to spend money. We did splurge and buy a built in vacuum at Costco this week though, so much fun!

Last night I began my art class again. It was nice to get out and explore a different creative side. I'm working on a painting of Elissa's pink cowboy boots...I think I posted the actual picture a while back.

This weekend we are busy with dance class, two birthday parties, seeing my mom, and trying to get out and work in the yard. Oh yeah, Joel was also hoping to squeeze in a golf game...we'll have to see about that one;)

We're Back!

Whew! Elissa and I have returned from our travels out east. Last Wednesday morning...early, early morning my mom, her cousin, Elissa and I flew out to Toronto for my cousin's (actually 2nd cousin) wedding. Poor Elissa came down with a cold the first day and was pretty miserable on Thursday. We had taken the subway (which was very exciting for Elissa) and toured around that day.
On Friday we rented a Durango and headed out to Kitchener, which is where the wedding was being held. We attended the rehersal and the dinner that followed. Elissa must have been feeling much better since her and her cousin Trinity put on a show for all the bridesmaids that night by singing and dancing.
Saturday was the big day for Brendan and Amy. Everything was beautiful and very well done. The dinner and dance was a blast. Elissa was getting pretty sleepy around 9:30 and was ready to get back to the hotel when the music and dancing started. She all of a sudden perked right up and took me out on to the dance floor. She was great date!

Well it's great to be home and sleeping in my own bed! Connor is having a bit of trouble adjusting to Joel being back at work. It seems Joel gave him a lot of attention while we were gone and he got used to being the only child!

I apologize for such a scattered entry, I'm still a little sleep deprived.
The first picture is of Elissa and her cousin Trinity, and although they look like they may not be the best of friends in this picture, they sure got along great. The second is of my cousin Brendan and his beautiful wife Amy, as well as two of her bridesmaids. Okay, off to cook dinner! 

In search of the perfect spot...

Today my mom and I took Elissa on a photo shoot. We headed to Chilliwack, and after a long time driving, trying to find the perfect spot, we came upon an abandonded old train station.

It was really hot, and we were in full sun, so needless to say my best shots turned out to be in the shade along this old shack.

When we were finished we treated Elissa to an ice cream cone at Birchwood Dairy.


 

Tea Time

Elissa dug out her tea set yesterday and decided her and Connor were going to have some "tea."
Elissa has school this afternoon and then both Elissa and Connor are going for a sleepover at Nana's! Joel and I are going out for dinner and then maybe to a movie. I have no clue what is even playing right now, so we'll see. Elissa starts her dance class tomorrow morning, she's so excited! I'm thinking on Sunday I'll drag the family out for a photo shoot. I'm trying to scout out new locations, we may try Chilliwack.
Okay well the kids are ready for the park... 

Elissa's First Day of School!

She's back! Elissa was sooo excited to start school again this fall. She had a great day and told me that she glitter glued, looked at the hamster and talked to her friends. They are doing gradual entry for the next two weeks, so that's kind of slow, but by the time we get back from our trip she'll be in the full swing of things. She begins her dance class on Saturday.
I included a picture of Connor from this weekend, I loved his hair! I think we'll be packing away the pool and water activities this weekend since hopefully it will begin to cool down a bit.
Last night we had another GNO, I think we're aiming for once a week. Joel golfs every Wednesday night, but I'll be beginning my art class again in a couple of weeks so Joel may have to switch to Saturdays.
Okay I've rambled enough for the day, I need to get dinner ready! 

Well Connor made the big move this weekend to his big boy bed. It is 4:20 pm and I just got Connor asleep for his afternoon nap. He actually did okay last night, although I think he ended
up sleeping on the floor by the door.
We were at church this morning and working in the yard this afternoon. Todayt is Shelley's birthday so we'll go over there for cake this evening.
Yesterday we hung around home mostly, Mark and Angie from next door came over and we watched "Take the Lead" Not a bad flick.
Joel is golfing tomorrow morning with some neighbours at Fraser Glen.
I actually got in front of the camera today and Joel took some pics of me. Here is one of Connor and I, and I also added one to my "profile."
Well I really need to clean the kitchen and start dinner, or maybe I'll just start dinner and then clean the kitchen... 

A couple from last night

Yeah it's Friday!! I love Fridays! Not many plans this weekend, hopefully get the garage finished.
Wedensday is Elissa's first day back at Pre-school and then on Saturday she starts her dance class. She's so excited, she asks me everyday if it's time to go to dance class.
Connor is back napping today. What a relief, I was not ready for him to give up his nap.
We went to Cathy's this morning and she put some streaks in my hair. The kids played well:)
Last night I had another GNO, two this week! This time it was with some neighbours. We werent too late.
Well I should go and clean up this house a bit before Joel gets home...
