Quinn turned one!

I had to share a couple of this adorable little one year old. I did his one year pictures yesterday and I'm still in the middle of proofing, but I thought I would give his mommy a sneak peek! I've had the priviledge of doing 3 sessions with this little guy, and just when I think he can't get any cuter, he does!

Miss Elissa

Just a fun candid one of Elissa this week.
Yesterday Elissa and I went to the hospital for another x-ray of her arm. It is indeed fractured. Not badly but she did need a full cast on. She's been really great with it and it doesn't seem to slow her down much. She gets it off February 19th, so not bad, only 3 weeks.
What a gorgeous day today. I went for a run this morning. I'm really trying to keep this up. I feel a lot more energetic after a good run.
Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Taylor

I did some one year pictures of this little cutie the other day. She was so fun to photograph and had a great personality.

Meet Cola

Se we picked up Cola yesterday. Here is Elissa, with her cast and her new kitty. Elissa just loves her as do I. She is gentle cat that has not meowed once! Although she is a little mischevious. She likes to open my kitchen cupboards and closet doors with her little paws and take a peek. I didn't think we would keep the name Cola, since I find it a bit masculine for such a pretty female kitty, but Elissa was very adamant about it staying Cola, I even tried Lola, but to no avail. So Cola it is.
Elissa is doing fairly well with her arm, although she was comnplaining about a sore neck last night, and her thumb seems quite swollen still. We are back to the Dr Thursday afternoon.

Okay off to cook dinner! Posted by Picasa

When it rains it pours...

So my Grandma has passed away, and the funeral is Tuesday. It's a busy week. It seems when things are busy they only seem to get busier. Yesterday we spent the day looking for the the perfect kitty to bring home. We went all over, SPCA, Petsmart, even our vet, but none of the cats "clicked." Finally we stopped at Petcetera which has cats fromthe SPCA that they try to adopt out. Immediatly we were drwan to this beautiful calico cat. She was so sweet and loved to be held. We wanted to adopt her but the lady there said we needed to fill out a form and wait to be approved. That was fine, but Elissa was heartbroken she couldn't bring her kitty home. We should find out today if we've been "approved."

Last night we were supposed to have games night at our house with two other couples, but plans changed when Elissa fell on her arm around 6:15. She wouldn't stop crying and kept holding her arm. Finally she cried herself to sleep inJoel's arms and we were able to pull back her sleeve and take a look. Her elbow was all swollen and we decided to take her to ER. My mom came over to stay with Connor and headed over to the Mission hospital (which by the way is way faster than MSA) we didn't have to wait to get in and we were in and out of there by 9:00. She had an x-ray and a cast put on. She seems to have fractured a bone and had to have a "half-cast" put on to allow the swelling to go down. We have to go back to my Dr at the end of this week and get it re-x-rayed and then a hard cast put on. She was a tough girl!

Okay we're off to church and then Cally's birthday party. Elissa is so excited!

Good bye Grandma

Well this morning I got the call my Grandma had passed away at 5:30 this morning. It's been a bit of an emotional day, but in my heart I know she's in a better place, free of pain and suffering.
I've included a picture of my mom and Elissa. I love this picture because it portrays the special bond between a grand daughter and grandmother. I hope to post a picture of my Grandma soon. Posted by Picasa

Crazy day!!

I happened to come across this picture from a couple of weeks ago and decided to throw it on!

Where do I start? This morning my mom called saying my Grandma is very sick and not expected to live much longer. She was on her way into Vancouver to be with her sister's and to also pick up my Aunt Sharon from the airport. I still haven't heard anything so I'm not sure what's going on. I do know my mom will stay in the city for the next day or two.

I met with Janice and Suzette this morning to go over the book we are planning on doing in our Friday morning group. We've chosen the The Power of the Praying Parent. It sounds really good, and I 'm looking forward to getting into it.

Elissa visited her cousin Sarah this morning and then went off to school. While she was at school Connor and I did some shopping at Costco and then stopped in a at Petsmart to look at the cat's. Both the kid's really want a cat, and we've talked about it for awhile, we'll see!

We went out for the dinner with the kid's tonight, and then back to Petsmart to look at the kitty's again! Joel and Elissa wanted to check them out.

Photo of the Day

I've started a new blog! Some people on my photography forum have begun to post a picture everyday. So I thought I would do the same. If anyone would like to join me in this challenge I think it would be fun! You'll see my link on this page "Photo of the Day" or my address is
