A couple from today...

This has been a crazy week with three photo shoots! This is from my most recent one. Angie if you're reading this, this is peek at what I got today:)
This was a super fun family with tons of smiles! I have so many proofs to go through still but these are a couple of my favourites so far! Posted by Picasa

a little urban acid

This was another one from the other night. I originally didn't think I liked it, until I remembered this urban acid action I had. I ran it and then tweaked a bit and came up with this! Posted by Picasa

Moody B&W's w/ some Fall Colour

Wow, here we are at Saturday night already! I spent the day painting my studio "antique white" while Joel and the kids worked outside. Okay well maybe the kids didn't actually "work" but they were sure tired by tonight.
Another week has come and gone. Not too much fun and exciting. I've begun running with some girls from Church. Boy are they good! I think we do close to 5 k's, which may not sound like a lot to some of you, but it's all up hill to the golf course! Okay and back down, but let me tell I can sure feel it in my legs today! I'm going to try to sneak out early tomorrow morning.

Pictures: I have two shoots coming up this week! I'm really excited, one is a 3 week old baby girl! I'll keep you posted on how they go. These pics I did at one point this week. Connor was doing some finger painting, in his jammies, while Elissa was dressed from head to toe as a princess. She got some new Snow White dress up shoes...high heels if you can imagine. So she has been clunking around the house in them all week.
Oh and the last picture...We were having a wonderfully peacful dinner on Thursday, okay well as peaceful as eating with a 2 and a 4 yr old can be, when the sun broke through the clouds and all this mist was lit up in the sky. I told Joel I was grabbing my camera and looking for the perfect "shot." Well he decided that maybe he would like to come as well...so the sun was quickly fading while the kid's were trying to find shoes, jackets, hats etc...and I was dying to get out! I quickly found this spot where the mist was lifting and the sunlight was shining through. I only got a couple of other ones before I lost my light, but I thought I would share this fall scene.

Okay enough rambling for tonight!

Pumpkin Patch

Today our neighbour's invited us to join them and their church at the Apple Barn. It was a very cool October afternoon. Very misty and damp. It is finally feeling like fall! The kid's had fun going through the maze, petting the animals...Connor walked right up to a goat and put his face right in front of it and said "hi!" in his chipper little voice! We also went on a hay ride through the apple orchards and the pumpkin patch. The kid's were intially drawn to the big pumpkins until Elissa learned the smaller ones were called "Cinderella" pumpkins. They each picked out a smaller pumpkin.
We had lots of fun and the kid's were exhausted by the time we got home. They were both in bed by 7:10 tonight!!
I think I'll be heading that way soon.

This is the sweetest and most cooperative girl to take pictures of. We had fun doing these at the park yesterday.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I awoke this morning at 5:56 to the sound of Elissa coughing. After a few minutes of coughing she got up and headed to the bathroom for a drink of water. Exactly 4 minutes later, 6:00, I heard the pitter patter of Connor's footsteps coming towards the door. Joel got up to get Connor, I got up to see how Elissa was. By 6:04 both the kid's were back in bed with Joel and I. I didn't fall back asleep. Neither did anyone else. But as we lay there in silence I realized how truly blessed I am.
Here I was lying in a king size bed with my wonderful husband of eight years and my two small children. We live in a house we love and a safe neighbourhood where the children can play and explore.
After breakfast I began preparing to make my pumpkin pies. I soon realized I was missing a pie plate. I called my SIL Cathy, who lives about 5 minutes away, and asked if I could borrow one of hers. How great it is to have such close family around.
Last night we had Thanksgiving dinner at my parent's house. It was a wonderfully huge turkey dinner with all our family, aside from Wade. It was filled with laughter and happiness.
In another hour or so we'll be leaving for Joel's family's Thanksgiving dinner. All his brother's will be there, with all of there wives and their children. It will be crazy loud and chaotic, there will be a ton of food, and there will definitely be a lot of laughter.
God has so richly blessed us.
Happy Thanksging everyone. Posted by Picasa

Backyard Fun

Well, as some of you know, I am
not a big fan of big, bright, plastic toys.
So when I arrived home
Saturday morning to find Joel and Connor having a big game
of basketball in the backyard, with a BIG, bright, plastic
basketball hoop, I was not
all that thrilled. Joel had taken
Connor to a garage sale where Joel got this "amazing" deal on the plastic hoop (only $10)
Anway, needless to say the kids have been out there everyday playing basketball. I guess in a few more years I'll be re-selling it at a garge sale!
