Minor changes...

Minor changes to my blog that probably only Cari would notice! I've been trying to figure out how to customize my blog a bit more tonight and I have to say HTML is not a fun langauge to learn! But I did play around a bit...notice my "copyright blurb" and a new category with My Work? Also I added a few of my very favourite photographer blogs. I find them so inpspirational and thought maybe you would too!

Sorry no pictured today, I'm still trying to regain my strength. Although I thought I would mention that yesterday was my one year anniversary of getting my Nikon! I have to say this camera has treated me well. I really love it.

The worst is over...

Today I got out of bed. I actually made it to the couch...briefly and then went back to bed.

I'll back up to Saturday night when I first felt a bit of a lump in my throat. Not a big deal, I'll go to bed and I'm sure it will be gone in the morning. Well, by morning I had a VERY sore throat and quite a fever. This is not good. I have things to do. So I figure I'll run down to the Walk In Clinic, grab a prescription and get on with my life. Didn't happen. I went, I waited...but no prescription. I was told I had the flu. The FLU??? I NEVER get the flu...never! How could I have the flu? So I went home. Crawled into bed and slept. And slept, and slept and slept.

Mom took the kids, Joel took the kids, Catherine took the kids, my mom again etc. It's all a big blur actually. This went on for two days straight. High fever, aches and pains, a bit of puking and still my super sore throat!

So early this morning my fever broke. Praise the Lord! Sweating never felt so good. I felt quite a bit better, except I couldn't turn my neck, I couldn't swallow and I could barely talk. My throat was still very sore! I think it actually had gotten worse.

Joel took the kid's to my mom's this morning and I managed to take my pj's off for the first time in days and put on sweats, and headed back to the Walk-In. Sure enough, same Dr. Ughhh, I'm sure he thought I was crazy. He checked my throat and oh, guess what? I have tonsilitis! Hmmm it is an infection. So I got my prescription, orderd Elissa a birthday cake (there is no way I'm going to muster up the energy to make one by Friday) and here I am typing away.

I'm still not feeling great, my throat is still super sore, but at least I'm up.

I found this super cute tie at The Children's Place today and had to do some pictures of Connor with it. Elissa wanted more pictures taken with her My Little Ponies, so I was able to sneak this one of her while she was setting them up.

Playing with texture

Something new, well for my anyway. Adding "texture" to photos seems to be a new trend right now, so I thought I'd give it a try. It ends up making the picture look more vintage. You can see the "cracks" on the wheelbarrow especially.

Spring flowers

Here are my first spring flowers! This was taken about a week ago before they were sadly pounded into the ground by our torrential downpours this past week.

Today we are celebrating Nana's (my mom) birthday. I attempted my first Angel Food Cake yesterday and let's just say that leaving a cake upside down on a jar for 60-90 minutes is jusy weird! Well I actually didn't read those instructions the first time so my cake turned out not so good. Needless to say I had to make another one last night, it looks much better. Elissa says we need to ice it with green icing actually she says "positively green" (she's been watching way too many My Little Pony episodes) since it's St Patricks Day.

Okay, off to ice a positively green cake!

Going on five...

Wow, I can't believe my baby girl is turning five in only a few short weeks. She is feeling sick today, but really wanted me to take some pictures of her My Little Pony's for her birthday invitations. I quickly grabbed this shot when she wasn't looking!

This morning Elissa went to a playdate so I got to spend the morning hanging with Mr Connor.

We went on a nice long walk and then played in the park. He loves drawing with the sidewalk chalk. It is such a beautiful day out and finally a bit of warmth! I know we're in for some major rain, but at least spring is just around the corner.
